Together We Rise: Our Relief Journey After the Sept. 30, 2025 Earthquake in the Northern Part of Cebu

On the night of September 30, 2025, a powerful magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck offshore Northern Cebu, leaving communities shaken, homes damaged, and families in urgent need of support. In the wake of this disaster, our team felt the call to step in—not just with supplies, but with compassion and solidarity.

Our journey to the northern part of Cebu was more than a relief mission; it was a chance to witness firsthand the resilience of survivors, the spirit of bayanihan, and the strength that emerges when people come together in times of crisis. This blog is a reflection of that experience—what we saw, what we learned, and how hope continues to rise.

Early in the morning, we packed relief goods— canned goods, bottled water, clothes, and other essentials—into vehicles bound for the northern towns. The drive was long, but every kilometer reminded us why we were there: to extend a hand to families whose lives had been turned upside down overnight.

As we reached the affected areas, the impact of the earthquake was visible. Some homes were partially damaged, while others were left in ruins.

Once everything was set up, we began handing out relief packs to families who had gathered.  It was humbling to see how even the simplest provisions could bring comfort and smiles.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who made this mission possible. To our donors—your generosity allowed us to bring food, water, and essential supplies to families in Northern Cebu who were affected by the September 30 earthquake. Every contribution, big or small, became a light of hope for those in need.

To our volunteers—thank you for offering not just your time and effort, but also your compassion and strength. From packing relief goods to traveling long hours and reaching out with kind words, your presence made a difference in the lives of survivors.

ogether, we turned compassion into action—and together, we proved that bayanihan is still alive and strong.

Daghang salamat, and may we continue to be instruments of hope.
